- To make the paint, simply mix the powder with warm water. Coverage will vary depending on painting technique, how thick or thin the paint is mixed, the number of coats applied, and the contrast between the paint color and the surface being painted.

Add Extra Bond when painting over a nonporous or previously finished or painted piece of furniture. Extra Bond helps improve adhesion and gives better control over natural chipping. Many milk paint users like to keep Extra Bond on hand for whenever it may be needed. Milk paint is known for its unpredictability when not using the Extra Bond.

Milk paint can naturally chip or crackle when applied over some existing finishes. This can create an authentic aged, distressed, chippy, or timeworn furniture finish.

Sweet Pickins Milk Paint colors can be mixed together to create custom paint colors. White can be added to lighten a shade and black can be added to deepen it. Always remember - Keep ratios consistent if recreating a custom color later!
