Unique Floor Design with IOD

Taking inspiration from the quilts my mother has made, I transformed a plain floor into a unique masterpiece using a mix of IOD Paint Inlays and Stamps. For durability, I applied Paint Couture's Extreme Guard Top Coat. A year later, and I am thrilled with how it turned out!

I decided to create distinct "planks" by incorporating either IOD Paint Inlays or IOD Stamps, alternating designs and utilizing various paint colors as the base. There are countless possibilities to explore, whether you opt for a single stamp design, a single inlay design, or mix multiple designs! Explore our website for all the available IOD paint inlays and stamps!

Using the IOD Paint Inlays:

Step 1

Cut strips from the inlay and plan out the design.

Step 2

Apply base coat to "plank" with the color of your choice.

Step 3

While paint is still wet, lay down strip of inlay paper (paint side down). Roll it flat with a brayer and spray with water.

**Tip** Lightly spray the paint side of the inlay before laying it down

Step 4

After the paper is dry, rewet and slowly lift up the paper to reveal the paint left behind!

*Inlays can be used more than once, looking more “distressed” each time*

Using the IOD Stamps

Step 1

Cover the area you do not want to stamp (mask).

Step 2

Apply ink or paint to the stamp using a brayer or inkpad.

Step 3

Apply the stamp and lightly press to ensure even coverage. Lift and repeat!

Step 4 (Optional)

Use stamps over inlays as well, such as the vintage textures to give a weathered look.
